The teachers Carlos Rivera Aguilar (piano) and Florian Kitt (cello) offered a recital at the Inca Garcilaso Cultural Center of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, an event organized with the Austrian Embassy in Peru. The musical program included works by the famous composers Claude Debussy (1862-1918), Antonin Dvorak (1841-1904) and Richard Strausss (1864-1949).

Carlos Rivera Aguilar (Arequipa), after starting his musical studies in his native land, won the Pablo Casals scholarship to study piano in Puerto Rico with maestro Jesús María Sanromá and chamber music with Casals himself. In 1962 she moved to Spain where she had the pianist Alicia de Larrocha as her teacher of interpretation of Spanish music. In 1963 he entered the Vienna University of Music as a student of the masters Hans Graf and Bruno Seidlhofer. In 1968 he finished his academic studies and joined the faculty of said institution as a professor of chamber music and the specialty of piano. In 2000 he received the title of “Principal Professor” at the University of Music and Dramatic Art of the city of Vienna. Carlos Rivera has performed as a soloist and in chamber groups in Europe, the US, Mexico, Bolivia, Brazil, Japan, Chile and Peru. He has been a soloist with the Vienna Chamber Orchestra, the National Symphony of Mexico, the Symphony of the National Autonomous University of Mexico, the Vienna Radio Orchestra, the Tonkünstler Orchestra and the Bucharest Symphony, Vienna , Breslao, Stettin, Monterrey, Xalapa, Lima, Arequipa and Trujillo. He has also made recordings for Radio and TV in Belgium, Hungary, Switzerland, Germany and Austria.

Florian Kitt (Austria), studied at the Vienna Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, with Professor Frieda Litschauer, and in Germany with Gaspar Cassadó and André Navarra. In 1964 he made his debut at the Vienna Konzerthaus with the pianist Rudolf Buchbinder and since then he has played as a soloist with renowned conductors. He has given recitals in most countries in Europe, America, Australia and Asia. He has been very successful with premieres of contemporary works, such as Ligeti’s cello concerto at the London Festival Hall. Similarly, with Berio “Ritorno degli Snovidencia in Roma” and with the concerto for cello and orchestra by Nigel Osborne. Florian Kitt is also a very passionate teacher. He has offered courses and master classes and has directed a cello chair at the University of Music in the Austrian city of Graz since 1970. His vast repertoire encompasses literature from all eras. He is also a great promoter of the compositions of works for cello, a beautiful instrument with a rich sound color, which ennobles the soul with its cantilenas.
